Marbled drips

These pieces were done by marbling the latex paints I worked with on the canvas as they were dripping. The canvas was held up to increase the flow of the paints, which were strung, poured, and dripped in specific ways to create the texture. The fully marbled orange piece reminds me of lava, in the intricacies of the marbling, as well as the colors. I enjoy the latex paints for their self-leveling attributes, and wide range of color choices.

Framed Abstract 16 x 20 canvases

I had an art show this weekend and I had my new frames painted and mounted to the 16 x 20 canvas size that I usually work with. These are the three that I had, though I hope to eventually have all of those canvases framed. They look more professional and seem more finished.

Alien planet

I painted this abstract painting a couple years, and sold it at one of my first art shows. I was at the owner's house tonight, and got an opportunity to take a better picture of it than the ones I had. I did this painting with a couple layers of acrylic paint, dipping different circles in paint, and using paper towels as a stamp as well. The spikey shaped object was done with oil paint. The whole thing was sealed with varnish after it was dry.

Finished disgusting beauty

I added some more washes of the primary blue and alizarin crimson, taking out the light and white parts. I am not quite sure if I am going to add the white back in, but for now, I like it how it is. I love how the colors mix and interact together, and bring out the texture.

Suminagashi canvas

This piece is the beginning of a custom painting I am doing for a friend. I attached four suminagashi painted papers to a canvas, all within the same color palettes, and will next be adding a quote across the top. I am more than pleased about how this piece turned out. The paper added structure to the canvas, which was a little loose to begin with. Now the canvas is taught, and ready to be finished.

Syringe painting

This abstract painting was done with acrylic paint, pouring medium and syringes. The under layer was painted with bubble wrap and netting, the syringes are filled with different amounts of blood colored paint. It took a whole bunch of days to dry, and still needs a couple days to finish. It is on canvas, and can be hung, without a frame.
